In an exciting and much-anticipated event, ELECTRON hosted its First Hangar Day at the new hangar located at Teuge Airport. This milestone event welcomed over 60 distinguished guests, including valued customers, suppliers, and other vital stakeholders. It was a day filled with insights, revelations, and a shared vision for the future of aviation as we know it.
The ELECTRON team, led by our passionate experts, took the stage to share comprehensive updates on our progress, offering sneak previews of the innovative directions in which our aircraft design is advancing. Alexander Klatt, our esteemed Head of Design, unveiled the “inspired by nature” theme, which is at the heart of our design philosophy. This approach not only highlights our commitment to sustainability but also ensures our designs are as efficient and effective as they are visually captivating.
Buwe van Wimersma, our Head of Engineering, presented a compelling case for our adherence to eCTOL standards and the pursuit of an existing EASA certification path. His detailed exposition made it clear how these strategic choices significantly de-risk our project timelines and costs, ensuring a smoother and more reliable development process.
However, the highlight of the Hangar Day for many was the unprecedented opportunity to directly compare the cabin experience of a traditional general aviation aircraft with the full-size mock-up of the ELECTRON 5 cabin. This hands-on comparison not only showcased the advancements and enhancements we’ve achieved but also solidified confidence in the superior experience the ELECTRON 5 promises to deliver.
It’s noteworthy that some senior aerospace executives even opted to leave the Paris Air Show earlier than planned, choosing instead to be a part of our Hangar Day. This decision underscores the growing interest and excitement surrounding ELECTRON’s ventures and the recognition of our potential to redefine the future of aviation.
