ELECTRON aerospace and Dassault Systèmes have formed a strategic collaboration, supporting the development of the Electron 5 aircraft. This collaboration centres around Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform for Startups, providing ELECTRON with access to cutting-edge tools and technology essential for building a certified aircraft.

Fred de Graaf, partner success manager at Dassault Systèmes, emphasised the importance of tailored solutions for startups. “A company like ELECTRON needs the right tools from the outset,” he said. The 3DEXPERIENCE for Startups offer includes access to industry-leading solutions like CATIA, SIMULIA, DELMIA, and ENOVIA—all provided at a discounted rate to help startups focus on growth without sacrificing professional standards.

ELECTRON’s co-founder, Marc-Henry de Jong, recognized the importance of having professional-grade technology from day one. “When our head of engineering joined, he asked whether we wanted to remain a startup or become a professional aerospace company. Our answer was clear—being professional requires adopting an industry-standard system, and that’s what Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides.”

Dassault’s technology empowers ELECTRON to streamline its development process, ensuring the design and simulation capabilities necessary to build the Electron 5. The platform’s comprehensive nature allows ELECTRON to avoid juggling multiple software providers, further enhancing efficiency.

Local partner TECHNIA played a key role in the partnership, guiding ELECTRON through the process of selecting the best tools to fit their specific needs. TECHNIA’s support ensured that ELECTRON had the right foundation to develop their innovative zero-emission aircraft.

This strategic partnership highlights how Dassault Systèmes is supporting groundbreaking innovations in the aerospace industry, helping startups like ELECTRON Aerospace pave the way for a sustainable future in aviation.
